Community Kitchen

Following on from the success of our Charity Bike Build, and driven by our belief that corporate team building should be fun and deliver tangible and much needed support to local charities and communities, we have developed The Community Kitchen.

 

 

Community Kitchen is a fun cooking activity which brings together company employees in a "cook off", with the opportunity to extend the invitation to your local Community with Learning Disabilities or your local Young Carers, who can enjoy the experience, build relationships and friendships, learn some new skills and give you a run for the winning position! 

 

Teams compete for the best show-stopper, and then you can all sit down to enjoy the fruits of your hard work.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Why Learning Disabled?

People with a learning disability can find it difficult to make friends, and still often face isolation and exclusion from everyday activities. Help us support positive change.

Why Young Carers?

Official estimates suggest that there are over 175,000 young carers in the UK, unofficially there may be up to 750,000. Each has responsibility in some way for looking after a family member. An event like this can provide the opportunity for a fun break as well as build practical and emotional skills such as self esteem.

 

How it works

Ideal for groups of up to 36, the group is split in to teams of 5 or 6. Each team has a work station, including oven, hob, work surface and all the cooking utensils necessary.

 

Our own Masterchef introduces the exercise with demonstrations on cooking techniques and recipe ideas, following which the teams are invited to collect the ingredients to organise their team, plan their menu and allocate roles.

 

Then the cook off begins, team have just under one hour to prep, cook and serve their chosen dish.

 

The contest is judged in true Masterchef style with a tasting by the judges.
