Make Sense
We are used to using our senses to make sense of the world. We engage with the outside world through touching, seeing, hearing, smelling and taste. People with special needs may have one or more of these senses missing, others may be sensory seeking or over stimulated by the day to day events in their lives.
Make Sense is a unique activity where the participants will take part in team challenges, some will be based around business and others will try to capture an essence of what it is like to be without one of the senses. Successfully completing the challenges will enable the teams to acquire parts for a sensory toy or storyboard.

Why?
Make Sense challenges the team to work together; understanding the brief, allocating responsibilities, acquiring assets, negotiating with other teams, time management and creating and building the final product.
The output from your event will be a beautiful, highly engaging and tactile piece of art for a local Special Need's School, hospital or children's charity. Tactiule wall murals make a huge impact to the quality of the child's experience, but are beyond the budgets of many charities.
This is a truly sustainable event, with all materials used, having a real and tangible purpose at the end of the event. No frivolous waste here!
How it Works
Teams will be provided with a workshop with all the equipment and a brief that is created in association with a local project specialising in working with children who have learning difficulties. The teams will be given an understanding of what item they need to create and will understand how many challenges they will need to complete in order to gather all the parts necessary to construct their item. Once they have got together all of the parts, they will construct their toy or storyboard, making it suitable for their target audience.
