(Will you) Use your next team building event to help a child like Jereld?

CSR Team Building

70m People around the world, need a wheelchair!

Be part of the solution

"Change lives through your team building"

We've been working hard with the awesome charity Motivation, to be part of the solution, and you can too, by simply choosing an impactful Performance Wheelchair Challenge for your next team offsite or team building day.

Jereld has cerebral palsy, and where he lives in Uganda, stigma towards disabled people is widespread and access to healthcare is scarce.

Jereld's father could not accept his disability and left home when Jereld was still a baby. Shortly afterwards, his mother fell ill and was no longer able to support her family. Her friend helped her to care for her six children and, together, they made enough money to send just one child to school.

Jereld was unable to sit up unaided, unable to feed himself and unable to go outside to play or make friends.

The implications of receiving this wheelchair, for now and for the rest of Jereld's life are huge, removing social isolation and providing opportunities to learn new skills.

Receiving a made-to-measure, fully supportive Moti Go Wheelchair from the charity Motivation, has been literally life changing for Jereld and his family.

But how can your team building event help a child like Jereld?

Take on our Performance Wheelchair Team Building challenge, and you'll be supporting the incredible work that Motivation do in countries such as Kenya and Uganda.

How? well, we purchase all of our challenge sports wheelchairs, used in our CSR team building event, directly from Motivation, which helps to fund their vital work.

But what is a Performance Wheelchair Challenge?

Our Performance Wheelchair challenge is an incredibly rewarding CSR team building event. It's heartwarming and very different from anything else you might have done.

We believe it might just be the most empathetic team building event out there.

The nature of the event, strips away work hierarchies and boundaries, as you take on challenges which build empathy and understanding of people living with disabilities. We call it "levelling the playing field", and this sentiment runs throughout this event - from the work it supports at Motivation, to your team building experience, to the inclusive sports clubs the chairs get donated to.

Working in teams of up to 10, you compete in fun challenges, created to provide learning and empathy for people living with disabilities.

The team challenges include the paralympic sport of Boccia, a communications game called Colour Blind (c) and a wheelchair race simulator to name a few.

Each completed challenge gets you the next part of your sports wheelchair, which your team, against others, is competing to build.

And What happens to the Finished Wheelchairs?

Well, after you've road tested them in a competitive game of wheelchair basketball or taken on our wheelchair obstacle course, all of your brand new Sport's Wheelchairs will be donated to a UK-Based grass-roots sports charity, a children with disabilities charity or an ex-services personnel charity.

That's Clever!

That's right - not only do you support the incredible disability charity Motivation, through the purchase of your wheelchairs for your CSR event, but the finished wheelchairs will directly support a child like Callum (pictured below) and grass roots inclusive sports teams like Flyerz Hockey, supported by the awesome charity Access Sport.

And our client Northern Trust did just that! At their team building event, they built an incredible 10 sports wheelchairs, which Access Sport were able to use to expand their wheelchair and inclusive hockey clubs (Flyerz) with. Allowing more children to access the sport and more clubs to be opened. The cost of a sports wheelchair is a huge barrier to most children and adults accessing sport and all the benefits that physical activity and team work has to offer.

"Day chairs are often quite cumbersome and not easy to manoeuvre for sports, so these wheelchairs remove that barrier for chair users. It has also helped to advocate for pan-disability opportunities in inclusive settings. These clubs have demonstrated that chair users can play sport with non-chair users, making the sport and social interaction truly inclusive.

Sports wheelchairs are obviously quite expensive and this can be a major barrier for disabled young people who wish to play sport. Providing community clubs with sports chairs enables many more chair users to experience the benefits of sport in a social environment. Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

Access Sport

In 1978, UNESCO described sport as a

"fundamental right for all",

stating that sport is a universal language, bringing people together across boundaries. Sadly, access to sport is still limited for disabled people with costly entry barriers, but you can help to break down those barriers, bringing the benefits of sport to more people and creating many more opportunities to 'level the playing field'
